I really like history and learning about other countries, so I enjoyed reading the 'Twas the book I used for AP Human Geography in high school. Valuable landscape areas will be accounted for in land-use planning. Overall, very repetitive and the chapters were outrageously long. I feel that the layout of each chapter is what makes learning about a topic you don't particularly care for an excruciating process. But if you like detail, I would recommend this book. It never even occurred to me I could count text books as part of my reading goals, but I guess why not! The Government made a decision in principle on the landscape areas and the development of landscape maintenance in 1995. I would not choose to read this for fun, but it was a great choice for the AP Human Geography course textbook.This was my AP human geography textbook from freshman year!
Another part of what makes the book interesting is that you may actually use the material presented in the book later on in life, even if you don’t go into a career involving the geographical sciences.
Read this for school (the Human and Cultural Geography DSST, if anyone's interested), and I don't normally add "school books" to my Goodreads unless they're fiction or whatever. The hardest part is remembering all the models for all the junk no one cares about. I've found it fascinating and very helpful in understanding the world and current issues. Kind of left slanting. A cultural landscape is an indicator of cultural patterns, values, and heritage through the way the land is organized and divided, patterns of settlement, land use, circulation, and the types of structures that are built and their placement in the landscape.
