Besides the fun humour that Drew de Soto has (a feature that you won't find in many technical books), it helped me a lot (and continues to help me today) on my first year as a designer on ''how to be a designer'' in the REAL world. It is like having a graphic design mentor who will help you come up with ideas, develop your concepts, and implement them in a way that is engaging and humorous. It gives readers the experience and ability that normally comes from years of on-the-job training. I was really looking forward to reading this book but, after a couple of chapters, found it a little boring and concentrating too much on type, print and paper.
