The sequence on his deathbed when Gokhale recites lines from the Mahabharat makes our hairs stand on-end. The film reveals an intensely tragic fate of an actor who becomes victim of fate and fortune in old age, which is similar to the fate of Lear. Each part of movie is not to be missed.

The poems are mesmerizing. Nana does it with panache and adds value complete with some wonderful layers to the character in his own trademark style. Marathi movies really started paving their work... This performance of a man raging against human injustices and God’s quirky decree will rank among the most towering performances of Indian cinema.Thank you, Nana, for reminding us of your greatness.

To say more in few words: This is cinematic marvel, a Gem, a Masterpiece. Natsamrat is a tribute to a bygone era of Marathi theater which was probably the last great art movement that shaped the texture of the society it inhabited and which it took inspiration from. Vikram Gokhale excels and takes over the baton with a dash of whiskey. A post retirement story of a down to earth actor parallels with the different acts he has played in his lifetime. Nana Patekar is supreme and he steals the show. Awsome acting by Nana patekar. Moments which will make you laugh hysterically but will sometimes leave a sombre aftertaste. Nana Patekar proves yet again that not only is he an actor par excellence, but also he has a power to totally grip you till the end of his films. And yet there is a lot to be said about Patekar’s propensity to own his character’s raging recitations.The brilliant actor, better here than in any of his recent Bollywood films (could we please obliterate At times the pounding truth of Patekar/Ganpat’s words hits us where it hurts the most. Nana Patekar no words to his performance, you can clearly see how this great actor has worked throughout his life, It looks like he has lived his own life in this movie. and Nana Patekar, with his marvelous acting, just explains why a great actor is indeed great.

This is one of the best Marathi movie I've ever seen in my life and also this is one of those movie which made me cry. Yes! With no appropriate character graph, except for your principal man, what else can you even expect? And, that's the success of any actor. Every scene every dialogue was building it's own impact/impression or sense in the parallel world, even if u leave behind the whole story plot. That means, appreciate whatever Nana brings forth, because it is perhaps a dream role; but don’t rant about the rest. Bebaak, Shazia Iqbal's short film now streaming on MUBI INDIA, is about a woman's identity crisis as a Muslim woman in India, trying to make her own in a prejudice-ridden world. Every aspect of human emotion including love, hate, betrayal, empathy, forgiveness, trust has been elegantly painted in the entire movie. Just as Nana's Ganpatrao says in the movie, a true skill of any actor is not to let his viewer get distracted by a packet of snacks while watching him on stage. He has starred in a lot of other films, but these above are a good guide. Nana's rendition of Kusumagraj's heart wrenching soliloquies will make you cry but will your heart will feel light and deliriously content, I guarantee.
C U Soon is a remarkably pacy entertainer and a perfect antidote to the immobility that the pandemic has imposed on us. Vikram Gokhale is Nana's companion, confidante and also a competitor.
