But i still enjoyed my Gamecube way more than my PS2, playing Soul Caliber, Smash Bros, Metroid, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil games, Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos series, Fire Emblem, Tales of Symphonia and my Zoids game, omg it was heaven.Once Xbox graduated from the duke, it was easily the best console.Gave us some of the best games ever, like: Metroid Prime, Shenmue, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, Ninja Gaiden Black, Paper Mario TTYD, KOTOR, Dragon Quest VIII, Panzer Dragoon Orta, GTA San Andreas & Vice City, Okami, SMT Nocturne, Skies of Arcadia, Tales of Symphonia & the Abyss. Sony PlayStation 2. 5 years ago.
Comparison of Nintendo GameCube and Sony PlayStation 2 based on specifications, reviews and ratings. It lacked a lot of hardware graphical features that even the N64 had, let alone the Dreamcast.
After multiple failed XBox disc drives, I'm disinclined to single Sony out specifically on bad drive hardware - but you are correct, the lasers were notorious for weakening over time (mine has)Seems like I'm just like you with both my PS2 and Xbox.
I have never had the Sega Dreamcast since it was only on the market for 18 months. The CPU speed indicates how many processing cycles per second can be executed by a CPU, considering all of its cores (processing units). The Gamecube from what I understand had the least problems compared to the PS2 and Xbox I think.Xbox simply for Halo CE,Ghost Recon Island Thunder,Splinter Cell ...PS2 for SSX and Tricky,UT,SOCOM,GT3...Gamecube..then Dreamcast..Xbox simply for Halo CE,Ghost Recon Island Thunder,Splinter Cell ...PS2 for SSX and Tricky,UT,SOCOM,GT3...Gamecube..then Dreamcast..Even though Ghost Recon was gimped on xbox in comparison to the pc version, people that owned the xbox were generally excited to play online. I'm surprised at the lack of respect for the Dreamcast shown in here. I had all of them.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castA subreddit for (almost) anything related to games - video games, board games, card games, etc. I dont see how the DC is still so favorited. For me, my Xbox has some great FPS but you wouldn't see these on a Dreamcast and not really on a GameCube (not many anyway). didnt really like my DC...but i loved my Gamecube and xbox All around I'd say the Gamecube.
STILL people are making games for the thing, so even though it seemed like the system died long ago there's still some things being made for those who still have them. But in that short time it sold 10.60 million consoles worldwide. The games I see people mostly mention are halo and games that were also on PC. The PS2 has more games, a broader audience, and I hear that some are still being made to this day. The biggest thing that made it successful was the DVD drive, which allowed Sony to sell it to people who saw gaming as a "bonus". Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts Basically how I see it.The Xbox had Ninja Gaiden Black. They all had great games but Xbox had the best graphics.
I didn't own a GameCube until 2011 when I was deployed to Afghanistan I bought one and played all the RE games. Was pretty crazy tech when it came out - PC power in a little box with all sorts of interface and expansion options plus the DVD-Drive as you noted. Nothing will ever beat Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion, Sunshine, Pikmin, Melee. I suppose the console I was most excited about was the Dreamcast, because that was the first console I bought in that generation. So I'll go with GC. The GC's power went underused by third parties though, as instead of cross porting their Xbox version to the GameCube, they'd take the easy route and port the PS2 version. IMO the most comfy controller design.
The PS2 was also notoriously difficult to program for third-party developers. That was only reason anyone ever bought PS2, it was cheapest available system and it was cheaper than a dvd player, thats why i bought it even though i had a Gamecube and Dreamcast already.
